Welcome to BookendIt, a blog about books.

A little about me. I'm a 23 year old MA student wanting to get into healthier habits around reading and writing. Judging by the date of this post (I'm currently writing at the end of New Years' Day, 2018), I'm also a walking cliché - oh well.

Having used and enjoyed GoodReads for the last year or so, I decided to find a new way to procrastinate and keep track of the means I use to procrastinate further and start a blog. I'm hoping that you, dear reader, will find my musings interesting and, should we share taste in books, useful.

Being a full-time student, I cannot guarantee that posts will be frequent, but I hope to be able to provide a couple of reviews each month. I mostly read non-fiction and tend to be quite obsessive about subject matter. When I find a subject that interests me, I invariably seek to purchase as many books on the topic as Amazon permits. As such, don't be surprised to find a string of biographies of American presidents, the tales of North Korean defectors, or analyses of Chinese millennials. Apologies in advance.

This being said, I hope that this is a place where I can have fun with writing and share the books that I have enjoyed - or not, as the case may be - reading. A narcissistic GoodReads, if you will. To start the blog off, I have copied a review of Philip Roth's American Pastoral that I wrote a few months back.
